Ujagar Singh, son of Narain Singh, Jat, of Sursingh, P. S. Bhikhiwind,
District Lahore. Emigrated to Shanghai in 1907 and working in the
Shanghai Customs in 1917. Was a keen Ghadr agent and worker and was very friendly with Tehl Singh of village Padri Kalan district Amtirsar
(formerly a recognised leader of the Ghadr Party). Returned from
Shanghai in April 1920. The Shanghai authorities deprecated his return to
that place but he, however, mannaged to go back there by getting his
Shanghai permit endorsed by the Bengal Government, and returned again
to India on six months' leave in October 1926. The Shanghai authorities
again urged the refusal of a passport to him on account of his being an
undesirable character, but the Punjab Government in consultation with
the Central Intelligence Bureau, decided to endorse his passport for his
journey to Shanghai in March 1926. Left for Shanghai and has been
employed there as a watchman for the last 6 years. Owns landed property.
