Ujagar Singh, son of Waskha (or Basakha) Singh, of Kokri Kalan, P. S.
Melina, District Ferozepore. An ex-convict. According to his own
statement he served a sentence of 5 years' rigorous imprisonment in India
in respect of a case of causing death, but this could not be substantiated.
Subsequently he went to the Malay States, where he played the part of a
bully. While there he committed a brutal and unprovoked attack with an
axe on a retired Police Sergeant-Major for which he was sentenced to 4
months rigorous imprisonment. While in prison he went on hunger strike.
In May 1932 he was deported to India. Was reported to have become a
Granthi in a Gurdwara at his village in September 1932, and has not been
heard of since.
Description : Age about 41 years; height 5’7, 1/4"; a scar on the right foot
and one on left knee; one vaccination mark on left upper arm and one
on elbow.
