Thakur Singh, son of Katha Singh, Jat, of Valtoha, P. S. Valtoha, District
Lahore. Not a returned emigrant. Became involved in seditious meetings,
and was present at Jhar Sahib, but did not take any active part. Was sent
for trial in the Supplementary Case and acquitted owing to doubt
regarding his identity, and tender age. Was convicted under Section 457,
I. P. C., and sentenced to two years' rigorous imprisonment, on 21st
August 1919 and again to two years’ rigorous imprisonment, on 30th
September 1922 under the same offence. Bound down for one year under
Section 110, Criminal Procedure Code, on security for Rs. 4,000 on 12th
March 1926. Was sentenced to 3 months' rigorous imprisonment, on 16th
January 1930 and to 15 days rigorous imprisonment, on 24th September
1930 under the Criminal Tribes Act. He is a registered Criminal Tribes
man, and has been restricted to the Amritsar Reformatory for the last
sixteen months. Owns landed property.
