Thakur Singh, son of Chajju, of Village Samrai, P. S. Nurmahal, District
Jullundur. On the 10th of February 1932 a man named Thakur Singh was
arrested at the store of H. Indar Singh (1-9) at Walnut Grove and charged
with being in the United States illegally. He was said to have entered
California from Mexico in 1929. In his possession were found receipts of
the years 1930 and 1931 from the Ghadr Party signed by Joga Singh (J-
31), Harmindar Singh alias Madan Singh (M-2) and Kishan Singh (K-
64). He also had with him an issue of the "Mazdoor Kisan" together with
a leaflet published by the Kirti Press entitled "Those who fought and died
for Communism" which contained photographs of Lenin, Karl Marx, and
Pandit Kanshi Ram. H. Indar Singh who is believed to be his brother,
pleaded on his behalf and offered a considerable sum as a bribe to the
Immigration authorities. He is said to be still in Jail (July 1933).
