Teja Singh, son of Narain Singh, of Village Kacha Pakka, District Lahore.
In 1920 he was an enthusiastic supporter of the former Ghadr Party
leader, Bhagwan Singh of village Viring, District Amritsar. After some years’ residence in California, he was deported to India in 1925, on
account of his attempts to smuggle Indians into California from Mexico.
After his return he received correspondence and literature from the Ghadr
Party. He was also known to be making efforts to return surreptitiously to
America. In 1928 Raila Singh (R-ll) was trying to secure his entry into
Panama. After consultations with Baba Wasakha Singh (W-6) the
President of the Kirti Kisan Party in the Punjab, he was reported to have
left Amritsar for Rangoon on 20th July 1932 apparently via Calcutta in
the company of Ishar Singh (1-26) son of Jaimal Singh of Gandiwind.
Teja Singh and the rest of the party arrived in Penang by the S.S.
"Karapara" on the 8th of August 1932. Teja Singh sailed from Singapore on
15th September 1932 and arrived at Shanghai in the first week of October
1932 travelling via Bangkok and Swatow. He lives with one Bagel Singh,
an employee of Anderson and Ferroggiaro at 858, Avenue Haig,
Shanghai, and as a result of the former’s efforts had obtained employment
in that city. He is reported to be posing as Jaimal Singh.
