Sundar Singh, son of Dewa Singh, Jat, of Dhudeke, P. S. Mehna, District
Ferozepore. He was one of a batch of 12 men deported from America,
who arrived in Calcutta by the S.S. "Nam Sang" in January 1915, and
explained that they had gone over from Canada in search of work, and
had been detained for illegal entry. Three of them were arrested in
Calcutta and interned and two more were convicted in the Lahore
Conspiracy Case. The party was obviously a Ghadr gang. Sundar Singh
was reported by the Ferozepore Committee to be dangerous. He was
released and restricted to his village in June 1916. Thereafter he
cultivated his land and was reported to have been inactive, though he held
Akali views. Four or five years ago he went to China. Nothing is known
of his present whereabouts.
Description : Fair complexion; round face; medium height; keeps kes
and beard; age 40 years.
