Sucha Singh, son of Gurdit Singh, Jat, of Chola Kalan, P. S. Sirhali,
District Amritsar. He was a reservist in the 23rd Cavalry and was called
up for service at the beginning of the Great War. He became one of the
intermediaries between the disaffected men and the revolutionaries.
Deserted from the army to join the revolt and was present at the abortive
attempt made at Sirhali. Was sentenced to 5 years' R. I. for desertion and
subsequently convicted in the Supplementary Conspiracy Case and
sentenced to transportation for life. He escaped from the Hazari Bagh jail
in March 1918 along with Budh Singh of village Sursing, district Lahore (a convict in the Supplementary Lahore Conspiracy Case-since
deceased), Teja Singh (T-10) and others, and has not yet been traced.
Steps are being taken to confiscate his landed property.
Description : Age 50 years; fair complexion; "Hamam Singh" is tattooed
on his right arm; height 5'8 1/2".
