Sharam Singh, son of Sher Singh, Mohalla Bawakhan, Gujranwala City.
He went to Persia in 1918 and returned to India at the end of 1919. From
1921-22 he was in Rawalpindi and took part in anti-British activities and
participated in the Akali movement in 1923-24 for which he was
imprisoned for one year. During 1925-27 he ran a taxi between Peshawar
and Kabul. He was lost sight of from 1928 to April 1932 when he re-
appeared again in Peshawar. In June 1932 he proceeded to Kabul, where he was taken on as a chauffeur by the Russian Legation. Towards the
close of September he was arrested by the Kabul Police but was released
on the intervention of Col. Rixe of the Russian Legation. He has shaved
his beard and head in Kabul. He is described as an active and a dangerous
Bolshevik agent. In December 1933 it was reported that he had recently
arrived in Moscow from Kabul and that he had no credentials from, and
had in fact been disowned by the Ghadr Party group in Moscow.
