Samund Singh, son of Attar Singh, Village Mahli, P. S. Bunga. District
Jullundur. He left his home about 1907 and seems to have gone to
Canada. He is reported to have delivered seditious lectures at Vancouver
in 1914 and was believed to be a member of the Ghadr Party in Canada in
1927. He sailed for India in August 1929 along with Hamam Singh of
Dhut Kalan, Hoshiarpur, and Gurdit Singh of Mehli, Jullundur. At
Shanghai he was visited on board the ship by Makhan Singh of Sursingh,
Lahore, who told him about the activities of the Ghadr Party in China.
Samund Singh told Makhan Singh that they (i.e., the Ghadr Party in
Canada) were dissatisfied with Shanghai party leaders as they had
misappropriated the money sent to them for Ghadr work in China.
Samund Singh holds passport No. 77578 issued at Ottawa on 1st August
1929.
