Salig Ram, Pandit, Son of Mahasha Ram, Brahmin, of Moela Wahidpur. P.
S. Garhshankar, District Hoshiarpur. He was a member of the Ghadr
Party which left San Francisco by the s. s. "Korea" on the 29th of August
1914. He returned to India by the s. s. "Tosha Maru" and joined the
Ghadr dacoity party in the Punjab, and professed his readiness to assist in
carrying out the schemes to the leaders who visited him. He stated that he
had smuggled through, copies of the "Ghadr-di-Gunj" which he had given
to the villagers to read. He was reported to be dangerous, and was
arrested and interned in March 1915. Subsequently he was released and
restricted to his village in September 1916. He has been keeping a shop
of cereals for the last ten years, and is still reported to be interested in
politics.
