Roda Singh, son of Hardit Singh, Village Sursingh, P. S. Bhikhiwind,
District Lahore. He went to Shanghai in 1904 and worked there as a
watchman with a Chinese firm for 5 years. In 1909 or 1910 he moved to
Nanking where he was employed in the same capacity with the
International Export Co. In 1917 he wrote to Jagat Singh and Udham
Singh in Hankow saying that Hamam Singh, a police agent since
murdered by Atma Ram of village Jhaman, district Lahore (executed in
Shanghai in 1917), was going to Hankow and be beware of him. In April
1927 he took part in the reception to M. N. Roy (the notorious Indian
Communist, now in jail on the occasion of the latter's visit to the Sikh
Gurdwara in Hankow in that month. In September 1927 he was reported
to have joined the group of seditionists in Hankow formed by Pritam
Singh of Dhand Kasel (P-29) in opposition to the local Hankow faction.
In 1929 he joined the Shanghai branch of the Eastern Oppressed Peoples'
Association, and was reported to be there in 1929. Has not come to notice
recently. Holds passport No. 1243, dated 17th May 1923.
