Rattan Singh, son of Buta Singh, Jat, of Malik, P. S. Jagraon, District
Ludhiana. He was a member of the Ghadr Party who assisted Chanda
Singh (formerly a seditionist), his brother, in the revolutionary work in
Siam, and was arrested at Chiengmai and deported from Siam. He was
restricted to his village but subsequently the restrictions were removed.
He received, jointly with his brother Chanda Singh, who was also a
deportee from Siam, a cheque for Rs. 3,930 on account of his outstanding
business debts through the Government of India in January 1919. Since
his return he has been living at his village and is reported to hold political
views. He is an Akali and has been helping Akali jathas.
