Raju, alias Raj Mai, alias Banta Singh, son of Ganda, Jat, of Bilga,
P. S. Nurmahal, District Jullundur. Went to America about 1906. Was
brought to Seattle from British Columbia by Moti Ram alias G. D.
Kumar (M-40) and Hamam Singh of Sahri (hanged in the Burma
Conspiracy Case), with whom he was closely connected. Was a student in
a high school at Seattle in 1910 and was supported financially by G. D.
Kumar. Said to have worked as a waiter in the India House, the quarters
of the Hindustan Association of America in 1916-17. Returned to India in
1921 and again went to Canada in 1924. Participated in the Akali
movement during his stay in India. Is known as Banta Singh in his village,
and is a man of political bent of mind.
Description : Age about 50 years; fair complexion; medium height; long
face.
