Radha Singh, son of Takht Singh, Jat, of Dhut Kalan. P. S. Bhunga,
Kapurthala State. Went abroad in 1913. Used to work in the Ghadr
Press but was dismissed by the late Ram Chandra of Peshawar, who was
one of the leaders of the Ghadr Party in America during the Great War. In
1917 his address was P. O. Box No. 71 Selma, California. Wrote two
revolutionary letters to Subedar Gurdit Singh and Sardar Nedar Singh of
the 28th Punjabis, which were intercepted in August 1916. Sailed for
India from Seattle, U. S. A., by the s. s. "Mishima Maru" on 23rd March
1929 and arrived at his village in May 1929. Since his return he has been
taking a prominent part in the activities of the Akali Dal. Is at present
Jathedar of the Akali Dal of Bhunga Tehsil. Was nominated by the Sikhs
in America as their representative for the Doaba Sikh Educational
Committee of women. Is said to be mixing with returned emigrants from
America some of whom occasionally visit him at his village. Owns landed
property and in addition, does money lending business.
Description : Wheat complexion; fat; broad forehead; height 5'-4"; little
finger of left hand disfigured; age 40-42 years.
