Qurban Hussain Shah, alias Syed Abdulla Shah, alias Shahji, son of Nadir Shah, Village Moghal, P. S. Fatehjang, District Campbellpore. Was wanted in the Babu Sultan Muhammad, Lahore Note Forgery Case and absconded to Afghanistan in 1923. Placed in command at Gardez by King Nadir Shah in November 1929. Appointed Officer-in-charge, State Workshops in December 1929. Equerry to King Nadir in 1930. Married an Indian lady in September 1930. Appointed Wali of Kabul, July 1931. In 1931 wished to return to India but permission was refused on the ground of his being an absconder. In June 1932 he and other members of the Ghadr Party were reported to be making strenuous efforts to obtain Harendra Lal Datta alias Babu Lal's (H-20) release but without success. Arranged for Gurmukh Singh (G-54) to run a petrol shop in Kabul in September 1932. In November 1932 he was reported to be assisting the Ghadr Party’s cause. Is a secret supporter of the Russians and is a favourite of the Afghan War Minister but is disliked by the Prime Minister. Holds the rank ofNaib Salar. Is Superintendent of Government factories in Kabul and is also alleged to be the owner of a motor concern run under the name of S. Fazal & Co., outside Katcheri Gate. Peshawar City, with its headquarters at Kabul.
