Pal Singh, son of Punjab Singh, of Village Mohanpur, P. S. Sirhali,
District, Amritsar. Used to be a contractor at Alorstar in the Malay
States with Gujar Singh of Mohanpur. Was banished from there for
sedition in 1915 and was arrested and interned on arrival at Rangoon.
When his house was searched a copy of the "Ghadr" was found in his
possession and in his statement, he admitted having studied Ghadr
literature and collected subscriptions for the Ghadr Party. Prior to his
departure from India he had been convicted of cheating. Was considered
to be a dangerous character as long ago as 1905 and to have held
seditious views even then. He was released from jail and restricted to his
village in May 1917, the restrictions being withdrawn under the Royal
Amnesty in 1919. Through an oversight he was granted a passport for
Penang in November 1920 but was again banished for life from Kedah
(Malay States) in February 1921 and arrived at his village in July 1921. Took a prominent part in the Akali agitation and was appointed Jathedar
ofthe Sirhali Ilaqa. Also took part in the Congress movement in 1930. Is
a staunch Akali and a secret worker who avoids going to prison. Is a man
of ordinary status and is heavily in debt.
Description : Height 5-5", brown complexion; a scar on forehead;
one mole under the left ear; one round scar on the right hand wrist; a
tattoo on the right hand below the elbow bend; one irregular scar on
left forefinger; knows Urdu and Gurmukhi. His photograph is on
