Narain Singh, son ofMahna Singh, of Thikriwala, P. S. Bamala, Patiala
State. Went to China in 1900 and thence to Canada in 1905, where he
worked as a labourer. In 1907 he settled in Vancouver. Made himself
conspicuous at a meeting held in California at which Barkat Ullah of
Bhopal (a deceased Ghadrite) Hamam Singh of Sahri (hanged in Burma
Conspiracy Case), Gobind Behari Lal (formerly an important member of
the Ghadr Party) were also present, by making a speech urging Indians in
America to return for mutiny. Returned to India in 1913 with Balwant
Singh of village Khurdpur, district JuIIundur (hanged in the 2nd
Supplementary Case), and Nand Singh (N-10) to ventilate the grievances
ofIndians in Canada. Was a member of Sewa Singh's party from 1917-22
and has since been leading an itinerant life. Became Secretary of the
Patiala Akali Jatha. Took part in the agitation against the Patiala Durbar.
Since 1929 he has supported Giani Sher Singh's party. Is at his village
where he owns landed property.
