Narain Singh, Khaira, son of Waryam Singh, Village Takhanwad,
District Ferozepore. He came to notice in 1928 when he was associated
with the Hindustan National Party organised by members of the Malwa
Sudhar Society. In 1929 he fought with Sher Singh Sathi over the alleged
anti-nationalist policy of the "Asli Qaumi Dard" newspaper and was
actually fired at by him. In June 1930 he wrote a letter to Seva Singh,
Editor of the "Kirpan Bahadur", Amritsar, regarding Sher Singh Sathi's
activities which he said were harming the national organisation, i.e. the
Ghadr Party. He also requested him to send him the book published in
connection with the "patriots" of 1914-15 and other political publications.
He is wanted by the U. S. authorities for the murder in February 1931 of
Nagina Ram Dhami who, he believed, had betrayed the fact that he was
illegally in California, to the Immigration authorities. In October 1931 he
was rumoured to be in hiding in a cotton plantation near El Paso, Taxas,
on the Mexican border and was believed to be intending to go to South
America. The Ghadr Party are alleged to have sent him a sum of $3,000
for which he had asked.
