Mukand Lal, Pathak, son, or adopted son, of Pandit Gujar Ram,
Saraswati Brahmin of Manko, District Jullundur. Left India for America
in 1912 with Jagat Ram (J-2) and the late Kidar Nath Sondhi. Was
reported to be a particular follower of Har Dyal and attended the Delhi
bomb commemoration dinners given by the latter on 25th December 1912
and 23rd December 1913. Attended Tarak Nath Das's meeting at which
very seditious speeches were made. Delivered a seditious lecture at Holt,
California, in the Winter of 1914-15. Was a member of the Nalinda Club.
Attended Har Dyal's dinner in honor of the Late Ram Chandra
Peshawari (one of the leaders of the Ghadr Party), at 1936 Bonita Ave.
Berkeley. Took the degree of B. Sc. In 1916 from the University of
California, and graduated in Electrical engineering from the University of
Illinois in 1918. Was a permanent subscriber to the "Ghadr". In 1919 he
intended starting a Satyagraha Society, to "expose the British rule in India
to the world", and was engaged in distributing seditious literature in the
Eastern part of the U. S. A. Is the author of a book entitled "India a
Graveyard". Applied for a passport to India in 1922, but was refused on
account of his having taken part in subversive propaganda. Was said to be
the Editor of the "Ghadr" magazine for five years, and towards the end of
1926 was reported to be the Secretary of the United India League of
Detroit. Arrived in India by the S.S. "City of Cairo" in April 1927. Was
said to be very friendly with Syed Hussain, late editor of the Pratap. Took
up his abode in Chak No. 263, P. S. Dikot, district Lyallpur, since long.
Is still a man of political bent of mind and makes "Charkha Ghandhi".
