Mohan Singh, son of Indar Singh, Village Mahilpur, District
Hoshiarpur. He left India for Canada to join his father when he was a
boy. He quickly fell in with the Ghadr Party, and about the latter half of
1929 was reported to be interested in learning the manufacture of
explosives. Early in 1930 the Ghadr Party intended sending him to Russia
for military training, for eventual propaganda in India. In the same year
he was active in the raising of funds for Bhagat Singh's (murderer of a
Police officer in India) appeal, and was reported to be on the Executive
Committee of the Canadian Hindustani Congress. Early in 1931 he left
Vancouver for California, but very shortly afterwards proceeded to New
York where he became associated with one of Sailendra Nath Ghose's
numerous ventures—The Hindu Products Co. In 1932 the Immigration
authorities in New York were considering the question of his deportation to Canada.
