Madan Singh, alias Harmindar Singh, alias Mahindar Singh, alias
H.S. Sodi, son of Raghbir Singh, Khatri, of Village Chak 365, J. B. Gojra,
District Lyallpur. He claims to have gone to the U. S. A. in 1910, but
went there in October 1924. He was reported to be the student who acted
as Secretary at a meeting of the Ghadr Party held in Sacramento on 4th
July 1927. He was Secretary of the Ghadr Party branch at Detroit in
1930. He is one of the Directors of the American Hindustani Trading Co.
of Marysville and in 1931 was said to be the Manager of the "Hindustan
Ghadr" and a frequent subscriber to it. Was arrested at the Ashram on 9th
December 1932 and taken to the Alameda County jail. Early in 1933 he
was reported to have been released, pending deportation proceedings. His
effects were searched at the Ghadr Ashram and yielded a number of
letters which show that he is highly thought of by the members of the
Ghadr Party and especially by Teja Singh Sutantar (T-8), and Joga Singh
(J-31). Secretary of the Ghadr Party. The former met him several times in
Detroit and the latter tried to secure for him a job in Ram Singh's (R-21)
store at Marysville. He is regarded as one of the most active members of
the party.
