Lal Singh, son of Ude Singh, of Naurangwal, District Ludhiana. He was
formerly a Sowar in the 3rd Cavalry Regiment. He is the individual with
whom Randhir Singh (R-29) discussed the raising of a revolt, and who
accompanied him in the abortive attack on Ferozepore. He was arrested
and sent for trial in the Supplementary Lahore Case and was sentenced to
transportation for life but the sentence was reduced to 10 years'
imprisonment. He escaped from Hazaribagh Jail but was recaptured and
sentenced to a further term of 2 years’ imprisonment. He was released
conditionally in July 1923 under the Royal Proclamation of 1919.
Enquiries made in 1929 showed that he had reformed and did not
associate with politically inclined men. Entertains Akali views and
associates with Randhir Singh of Naurangwal (R-29). Owns landed
property.
