Lachman Singh, son of Jiwan Singh, Village Rampur, P. S. Mahilpur,
District Hoshiarpur. He was a Zemindar but subsequently joined the
69th Regiment and rose to the rank of Naik, when he resigned. He went to
America about eleven years ago. He has not come to notice in his village
but in a letter dated 19th February 1931 from Nidhan Singh (N-39),
President of the Ghadr Party, in America to Gurmukh Singh of Kabul (G-
54), it was stated that Lachman Singh had agreed in his son, Charan
Singh, a student in the Khalsa College, Amritsar, being sent to Russia for
education in revolutionary and propaganda work.
