Kapur Singh, son of Ala Singh, of Dhanoe, P. S. Gharinda, District
Amritsar. A local bad character who absconded in 1902 when he was
suspected in a case under Section 325,1. P. C. and remained abroad for 8
years. He worked for a year in a saw-mill at Vancouver, and subsequently
with a Japanese farmer at Stockton. He was arrested at Sumas for
assaulting some Punjabis. He remained in jail for 5’/2 years and on release
returned to India by s.s. "Lai Sang" on 20th March 1915. He was
considered suspicious and was interned. He had been in touch with
Dr. Bishan Singh of village Mattu Bhanoki, district Gujranwala (formerly
connected with the Ghadr Party and a very rabid revolutionist) and Surain
Singh of village Sursingh, district Lahore (an ex-Ghadrite). He was
released and restricted to his village. Restrictions were removed in 1918.
He works as a farmer at his village and takes part in anti-Govemment
movements and associates with Khushal Singh of Rattan and Jagat Singh
ofDhanoea Khurd. Owns landed property.
Description : Age 50-55 years; tall and well built; fair complexion; long
beard.
