Kala Singh, son of Wazir Singh, Jat of Masanian, P. S. Adampur. District
Jullundur. Was a Havildar in the 25th Punjabis but was discharged from
the regiment on return from Hong Kong because of his seditious
tendencies. Joined the Akali movement and when proceedings were taken
against the Babbar Akalis in 1923, he absconded to Calcutta for fear of
arrest and returned to his village in 1926. He continued to take a
prominent part in the Akali agitation, and formed a Jatha of which he
became the Jathedar. Went to Calcutta again where he is now reported to
be a watch repairer. Owns landed property at his village.
