Jagjit Singh, Mazloom, son of Lohara Singh, of Gujarwal, P. S. Dehlon,
District Ludhiana. Went to Calcutta in 1924 where he learnt motor
driving. In 1929 be became a member ofthe Kavi Kutia and contributed
several poems to the "Sanjhiwal" under the assumed name of "Budhu",
"Bhondu" and "Chartu", etc. Was reported to have been the Secretary of
the Punjab Naujawan Bharat Sabha of Bengal in 1929-30 and to have
been employed in the Akali Book Depot at 26-A, Ashutosh Mukherjee
Road, Calcutta. A close associate of the extemees Maha Singh of village
Kamalpur, district Ludhiana (since dead), and Prem Singh "Prem" (P-28),
Munsha Singh Dukhi (M-54) of the "Kavi" Press and Chattar Singh
(C-21), a convict in the Tollygunge Arms Final Case. Used to live at 54-
B, Shambhu Nath Pandit Street, Calcutta. Finding that his profession of a
taxi driver in Calcutta was not lucrative he returned to his village in the
Ludhiana district in August 1931. In April 1932 he paid a short visit to
Calcutta having been deputed by Maha Singh and Prem Singh "Prem" to
show the rules for the formation of a Bharat Gabruan Ghadr Party, which
had been drafted by Maha Singh, to Munsha Singh Dukhi and Lila Devi.
