Jagat Singh, Mann, Village Tuto Majra, District Hoshiarpur. He was
reported to be an office-bearer of the Hindustan Young Men’s
Association, Vancouver, in 1927 and to have attended several meetings
convened by the Association. At one of its meetings held in Vancouver in
April 1929 the action of Bhagat Singh (the murderer of a Police Officer
in India) was praised, and it was decided to send financial aid to those
who followed his example. Early in 1929 he paid a secret visit to Seattle
to discuss matters concerning the Ghadr Party with Gurmukh Singh
(G-54), from Kabul who was there at that time. He was a member ofthe
Canadian Congress deputation to collect funds for Bhagat Singh's appeal
and also helped Kartar Singh (K-30), to collect subscriptions from the
Ghadr Party for his paper entitled "India and Canada". Towards the end
ofJanuary 1932 he met at Abbotsford, Nidhan Singh (N-39), President of
the Ghadr Party, who had crossed over to British Columbia
surreptitiously to attend the anniversary celebration, at the Fraser Mills,
ofMewa Singh's martyrdom.
