Ishar Singh, son of Jowand Singh, Jat, of Marhana, P. S. Sirhali,
District Amritsar. Was a "Tosha Maru" passenger, who was interned on
arrival in India, apparently in 1914. Was released and restricted in June
1916. The restrictions were subsequently removed. He took a prominent
part in the Akali agitation. Was convicted in 3 cases and sentenced to an
aggregate of 5 years' imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 700. After his release
he joined the Congress agitation. Is a member of the Gurdwara
Parbhandak Committee and a zealous worker of the Kirti Kisan Party. Is a
dangerous man and holds extreme political views. Was arrested on 7th
June 1932 under Section 17 (A), C. L. A. A. in connection with the Sikh
Political Conference held at Tam Tam and sentenced to 6 months'
imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 50 on 17th June 1932. Associates with
Wasakha Singh of Dodher Amritsar (W-6), Gurdit Singh of Sirhali (G-46)
and Santa Singh of Gandiwind (S-l 8).
