Ishar Singh, alias George Ishar Singh, son of Shajoo, Village Jaja, P. S.
Thandian, District Hoshiarpur. According to his own statement he left
his home in 1901 and went to Singapore where he worked as a Constable
for about 4 years. In 1905 he sailed for Canada whence he proceeded to
the U. S. A. He was reported to be an active Ghadr Party worker in
California in 1928. In 1929 was a regular subscriber to the Ghadr Party
on behalf of the Kirti fund. In April 1931 he applied for a passport for
purposes of identification in the U. S. A. and passport facilities were
granted to him. He arrived at Calcutta on 8th March 1932 and proceeded
to his home. He is not a Christian, but his employer prefixed "George" to
his name in 1908, since when he has been known as George Ishar Singh
