Himmat Singh, son of Pakhar Singh, Village Ziala Khurd, P. S. Bamala,
Patiala State. Served in the M. T. Company at Quetta in 1919-20 and as
a motor driver with private individuals at Chaman. In January 1928 he
obtained a passport for Persia and Afghanistan with a view to working
there as a motor driver. Recently reported to have taken up service with
the Soviet Embassy at Kabul and to have thence flown to Russia. He is
reported to have returned to Kabul shortly afterwards. Was mentioned in
a recent letter from Rattan Singh (R-36), Berlin, to Gurmukh Singh
(G-54), in Kabul. The reference showed that Himmat Singh was mixing
in one of the inner circles of the Ghadr Party. He is still serving as a
motor driver in the Russian Embassy, Kabul, and acts as an intermediary
between the members of the Ghadr Party and the Russian Embassy.
