Hazara Singh, son of Natha Singh, Jat, of Village Laukha, P. S. Sirhali.
District Amritsar. He served in the 91st Punjabis for some time, and was
subsequently recruited in India in February 1913 for the Shanghai
Municipal Police in which he remained until the 14th of October 1920,
when he purchased his discharge. During his period of service as a Police Officer
Constable he was reported several times for breaches of discipline. In
1927 he was suspected of receiving copies of the "Ghadr Dhandora" from
Hankow for local distribution and was reported to be a close associate of
Indar Singh of Mari Kamboki (1-15) and a leading seditionist of Shanghai. He is regular attendant at the meetings held in the Paoshing
Road Gurdwara, but has not taken a promiment part in the activities of
the Sikh seditionist party in Shanghai. He was present at the gathering on
the Bund foreshore on the occasion of Chaudri Kahan Singh's departure
from Shanghai in July 1928. Is still in Shanghai. Owns about 20 bighas of
land, the income of which is being utilized by Baba Wasakha Singh (W-6)
towards the Sikh Desh Bhagat Qaidi Parwar Sahaik Committee
(Committee for the relief of families of Sikh political prisoners). Has no
near relations. His cousins Thaman Singh and Narain Singh are reported
to be serving in the Police Department at Shanghai.
