Harnam Singh

Harnam Singh, son of Sundar Singh, Jat, of Village Kala Sanghian, P. S. Kotwali, Kapurthala State. Was a Sepoy in the 26th Punjabis and discharged on the 19th February 1915 owing to his seditious tendencies. Was reported to have been one of the ring leaders of disaffection in the regiment and an intimate friend of Sajjan Singh of village Khodkrana, district Ferozepore, the Anarkali Murderer (hanged), and Kartar Singh of Saraba (hanged). Was sent up for trial in the Lahore Conspiracy Case, and sentenced to transportation for life in 1915. Is at present undergoing imprisonment in the Rawalpindi jail. All his landed property has been confiscated. His wife and children are in receipt of an allowance of Rs. 10 per month, from the Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee, Amritsar.
