Gurdit Singh

Gurdit Singh, son of Hamam Singh, of Purhiran, District Hoshiarpur. He went to Canada in 1907 and worked under Harnam Sindi of Sahri (hanged in the Burma Conspiracy Case) who was a leader of the bomb- making party in America. He was sentenced in Vancouver to 4 years' imprisonment on the 24th September 1914 for manufacturing bombs. In 1918 he was again sentenced to five years' imprisonment for having arms in his possession, and was released in February 1922. Thereafter he was working at Duncan on Vancouver Island, and was ordered to report monthly to the Police. He is at present in Victoria, B. C.

Description : Wheat complexion; age about 55 years; had beard and "kes" when he left India.
