Gurdev Singh Dhillon, son of Naranjan Singh (N-27), Village Pandori
Ladha Singh, P. S. Mahilpur, District Hoshiarpur. He is the son of
Naranjan Singh (N-27), a prominent leader of the Ghadr Party in
California. He is said to be working as representative of the party in
British Columbia. He is understood to have held a passport issued at
Lahore in November 1929 which is stated to have been lost. In December
1930 he was granted a passport valid for 6 months by His Majesty's
Consul at Colon for travelling to the United States of America, India, and
Panama. He was recommended by the Panama branch of the Ghadr Party
as a suitable person for training in aeronautics. He landed in Vancouver in
March 1931 and was allowed entry into Canada. At a meeting of the
resuscitated Hindustani Young Men's Association (Ghadr Party group in
B. C.) in the Sikh Temple at Vancouver on 15th May 1932 he is reported
to have recited a poem to the effect that no country had ever obtained its
freedom without revolution. He also eulogized the services of the Babbar
Akalis at a meeting held on 22nd May 1932 to commemorate the death of
the Babbar Akali martyrs. He was reported to be a prominent party leader
in California and to be working as a representative of the Ghadr Party in
British Columbia. He also acted as Secretary at a meeting of the
Hindustani Young Men’s Association held at the Sikh Temple in
Vancouver on 28th August 1932. He could not be traced in Pandori,
Hoshiarpur.
