Genda Singh, son of Budh Singh, Village Dodher, P. S. Moga, District
Ferozepore. Is reported to have been largely responsible for the
development of the Kirti Kisan organization in the Ferozepore district and
its suburbs. A well-known member of the Mazdoor Dal of India, 17 R. G.
Kar Road, Calcutta, which is branch of the Kirti Kisan Party of the
Punjab. Is a member of the Communist Party of Abdul Halim, and was
reported in 1931 to have frequently visited the office of the Communist
Party known as "Samyaraj Party" with a view to establish connections
with the Ghadr Party. Was a prominent member of the Bengal Workers'
and Peasants' Party. Has also been connected with another minor Labor
Organization such as the Calcutta Tramway Workers' Union, and the City
Transport Workers' Union, Calcutta. Is the editor of the Gurmukhi
Communist paper "Driver" which has recently ceased publication. Has
recently been showing interest in Communist affairs abroad, and is
suspected to have established connection with the Ghadr Party.
Information was received in December 1932 that Genda Singh was
preparing to leave Calcutta for Singapore to organize a Workers' Party
among the Sikhs there and to raise funds for the Workers Party of India.
He is at present reported to be in the Punjab. Used to live at 17, R. G. Kar
Road, Calcutta.
