Dhan Singh, son of Natha Singh, caste Jat, of Village Achharwal, P. S. Raikot, District Ludhiana. Emigrated to Shanghai in 1906. Was a passenger on board the s.s. "Komagata Maru" and was interned on arrival in India. Conduct in jail was consistently bad. Released from internment after about 4 years. Often delivers anti-Govemment speeches. Once, about four years ago, he made a speech at Sheikhupura, where he was consequently prosecuted for sedition and sentenced to a fine of Rs. 100. Does agricultural work. His cousin, Kehar Singh, is an influential local agitator and a Congress propagandist. Owns landed property.
