Dayal Singh, son of Hari Singh, of Balkasar, P. S. Chakwal, District
Jhelum. He first went to Duzdap (Persia) in 1918, and soon made himself
conspicuous by taking part in anti-Govemment movements and delivering
objectionable speeches in connection with the Nankana tragedy. In 1921
he was bound down in a sum ofRs. 5,000 to keep the peace for one year.
Towards the end of 1922 he went to the Punjab and joined the Akali
movement, and was convicted under Section 17-B ofthe C. L. A. A., and
sentenced to 6 months' rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 300.
Subsequently he returned to Duzdap and remained there till 1928 when
he shifted to Quetta, where he has been running a shop in partnership with
Messrs. Sobha Singh Mota Singh. He has been a regular subscriber to the
Kirti since a long time, and is extremely anit-British and anti-Capitalist in
his views. He visited the Karachi Congress and was noticed associating
with Kirti Kisan workers.
