Chet Singh, son of Ram Ditta, Village Biharan, Police Station Garhshankar, District Hoshiarpur. He paid subscriptions to the Ghadr Party on occasions and while in California he interested himself in making attempts to start a primary school for the villages of Biharan and Pakhowal in the Hoshiarpur district. He appears also to have been on friendly terms with Harjap Singh (H-32). In 1920 he was reported to be a 55 [C-23—25. regular quartely subscriber to the Ghadr Party on behalf of the Kirti. Under instructions from the Ghadr Party he accompanied Bawa Indar Singh of Birpind (B-41), on a visit to India, sailing from San Francisco on 8th November 1929 by the s.s. "President Grant", for the purpose of entering into close co-operation with the Sikh extremists of the Punjab, and reviving the Babbar Akali movement. Arrived at his home towards the end of 1929. Enquiries made by the local Police showed that the alleged mission did not materialise. Holds passport No. 4082, dated 6th November 1929. His address in America was P.O. Box 521, Rio Vista, California, U.S.A. Has a brother named Hazara Singh who was deported from the U.S.A, in April 1933.
