Buta Singh, son of Lehna Singh, Jat, of Muchhal, P. S. Jandiala, District
Amritsar. He went to Hong Kong in 1911 and was employed there as a
watchman. He was a leader on board the s.s. "Komagata Maru" in which
he took a passage to Canada. He was interned on his arrival in India in
December 1915 and released and restricted in January 1916. The
restrictions were subsequently removed. He has been working as an
agriculturist at his village and is reported to be quiet. Owns landed
property.
