Bishan Singh, son of Suhel Singh, Jat, of Kot Duna, P. S. Bamala, P. O.
Kaleke, Patiala State. A Constable in the Shanghai Police. Was
dismissed in April 1915 for writing a disloyal letter to a Policeman in
Burma. Became a watchman to a German firm in Shanghai, but was
thrown out of employment owing to the Ordinance against British
subjects serving hostile alien firms. In 1917 worked as a watchman with a
Chinese firm, and later in May 1917, was in the employ of the Kailan
Mining Administration at Tongshan and was believed to have left his job
in the same year and proceeded to Tientsin. Was known to be an
influential money-lender who had a large following. Was strongly
suspected of being the leader of the local Ghadr Party. A dangerous
seditionist. Was employed, and lived at the Sikh Temple in Tientsin in
1927 and received circulars from the Hankow Ghadr Party. In 1929 he
was employed as a watchman in the Tientsin Race Club. Is still abroad.
Owns landed property at his village.
