Bawa Singh, alias Indar Singh Bawa, alias B. S. Indar Singh, son of
Jagat Singh, of Birpind, P. S. Nakodar, District Jullundur. He emigrated
to the U. S. A. in 1908 and was reported to have been a figure of some
importance in his community. He acted as Secretary at a secret meeting of
the Ghadr Party in the Gurdwara in Stockton in January 1915. He took a
prominent part in the affairs of the Khalsa Diwan in Stockton of which
institution he -was for a while Secretary. He was reported to have made
bitter speeches and to have come to notice with reference to a proposal to
present Gurmukh Singh in Kabul (G-54) with a sword of honour. Was
reported in 1929 to be a regular quarterly subscriber to the Ghadr Party
on behalf of the Kirti fund. Under instructions by the Ghadr Party he
sailed for India from San Francisco on the 8th November 1929,
accompanied by three other men, for the purpose of entering into close
co-operation with Sikh extremists in the Punjab, to revive the Babbar
Akali movement. He arrived at his home on 29th December 1929. He is
at present in his village, and has not had anything to his discredit, political
or otherwise, since his return from America.

Gurmukhi; age 45-46 years.
