Bakhtawar Singh, alias Harbhajan Singh Sathi, son of Fateh Singh of
Chawinda, P. S. Dehlon, District Ludhiana. An Individual with whom
Randhir Singh of Naurangwal (R-29) discussed plans for tormenting a
rebellion. Was one of the satellites of Randhir Singh. Was one of the party
that made an abortive attack on Ferozepore and was arrested and sent for
trial in the Lahore Supplementary Case. Was convicted to transportation
for life, but the sentence was subsequently reduced to one of three years'
R. I. Removed to Amritsar in 1924, where he became a member of the
Naujawan Bharat Sabha, and associated with political workers.
Participated in political demonstrations and meetings of the Congress and
the Naujawan Bharat Sabha in 1929. Was on the editorial staff of "Asli
Quami Dard". Edited the Gurmukhi "Mazdur", which advocated the
cause of the Press Workers' Union, Amritsar, and frequently contained
inflammatory articles. In 1932 he was in correspondence with Sher Singh
Sathi (since murdered in America).
