Bagga Singh Dhaliwal, son of Narain Singh Dhaliwal, Village and P. S.
Nihalsinghwala, Tehsil Moga, District Ferozepore. He entered the
U.S.A, as a student in 1926 and spent one semester at the State College,
Fresno, since when he has been avoiding the American Immigration
Authorities. He was reported to have been an active supporter of the
Ghadr Party in America since his arrival there and to have been elected a
member of the Managing Committee in 1930. In January 1931 he paid a
surreptitious visit to Vancouver as a representative of the Ghadr Party and
also visited various Indian centres in British Columbia to stir up
revolutionary feelings in the young men of the Party. He spoke at a
meeting of the Los Angeles branch of the Ghadr Party held on 28th June
1931. About this time he was reported from another source to take
interest in Ghadr Party affairs' to be of a quiet disposition, to have lost $
3,000 in a bank smash in Santa Monica, and to be employed as a gardener
in California. In December he sent a letter to the editor of the "Kirpan
Bahadur”, Amritsar, from P. O. Box 1429, Santa Monica, California. On
3rd April 1932 he spoke at a meeting of the Los Angeles Branch of the
Ghadr Party and was elected Secretary of the Branch. On 15th January
1934 he left California, sailing from Los Angeles (San Pedro) on the s.s.
"President Hayes” en route for India, via Japan, China, Hong Kong,
Phillipine Islands, etc., and arrived at his village on 15th March 1934.
Holds passport No. 5067, issued at Los Angeles on 11th January 1934.
Last address in America—321, Pico Boulevard, Santa Monica,
California. Is reported to be intending to return to America shortly with a
view to obtain citizen's rights in that country.
